About the White River Valley

The White River flows through the heart of Northwest Colorado, running from the Flat Tops Wilderness through Meeker and onward to Rangely. The valley is known for excellent trout fishing, spectacular scenery, and abundant wildlife.

Meeker sits in the middle of the valley, making it an ideal base for exploring the river and surrounding country.

Fishing the White River

The White River offers quality fishing for brown and rainbow trout. Public access points are available along the river, though much of the surrounding land is private. A Colorado fishing license is required.
